Oatman Arizona-Black and White Wednesday #120

Oatman Arizona

Burros still roam the streets of Oatman, Arizona even after the gold rush days are years behind us  They were left to fend for themselves and are now one of the main tourist attractions in this ghost town accessible from Old Route 66, a narrow roughly surfaced road with hairpin turns and steep hills.

The burro food consists of carrots and “burro chow” a mixture of what looks like grass and grains.

One of the abandoned mines in Oatman, Arizona.

The Old Oatman Hotel where Clark Gable and Carole Lombard spent their honeymoon night after being married in Kingman, Arizona in 1939. Since then, the hotel was devastated by a fire that burned nearly the entire town.

The burro image and the burro food image are my contribution to BWW #120 hosted this week by its creator, Susan of the Well Seasoned Cook. Black and White Wednesday is managed by Cinzia of CindyStar Blog.
